Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEMH) - Full Time Old Trafford, Manchester Monday to Friday | Full-Time
A specialist education recruitment agency is currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established Special Educational Needs school in the Old Trafford area. We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join the school on a full-time basis.
This rewarding role will involve supporting pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs, primarily working with small groups of students to help them engage positively with learning, build confidence, and develop social and emotional skills.
The Role:
* Supporting students with SEMH needs in a specialist school setting
* Delivering group-based support sessions and classroom assistance
* Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
* Building strong, professional relationships with pupils and staff
* Assisting teachers in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment
* Full-time role, Monday to Friday during term time
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Have experience working with children or young people with additional needs, particularly SEMH
* Be calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations
* Have strong communication and behaviour management skills
* Be passionate about supporting vulnerable young people
* Be able to work effectively as part of a team
* Experience in a school, care, youth work, or support setting is desirable
