We are seeking a highly motivated CADD Technician with experience in 2D/3D design and drafting utilising Bentley software packages. This position requires a strong technical background, thorough, attention to detail, collaborative working across various disciplines, support of the CADD Manager in developing, maintaining and enforcing standards and procedures as well as supervising and mentoring others.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in further developing our Watford based CADD team to better support our engineering and design teams by producing detailed and accurate CADD drawings and models compliant to industry standards and best practices.
Duties
• Manage resource planner and chair regular coordination meetings with the CADD team.
• Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to understand the design brief, influencing factors and provide advice during the development of pricing and programming for CADD resource.
• Participate in project meetings and contribute to design discussions.
• Manage, monitor, and record the inflow and outflow of design data in line with ISO 19650 or project-specific requirements.
• Create, modify, review, and achieve high-quality 2D CADD drawings and 3D models for engineering projects that adhere to company standards and industry best practices.
• Provide technical support and guidance to other CADD technicians.
• Manage, maintain, and update CADD libraries and templates.
• Support BIM development with positive attitude and willingness to coach, including conducting and delivering training sessions and presentations.
Person Specification
• Proven experience as a CADD Technician (portfolio of evidence required).
• Proficient with MicroStation, OpenRoadsDesigner and ProjectWise.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, construction methods, and current health, safety, and environment legislation.
• Preferably previous experience working on highways and structures.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Relevant technical qualifications or certifications.
