About the Role
Southend Care is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Health and Social Care Trainer to deliver high‑quality mandatory training, Care Certificate induction, and specialist adult social care courses. You will play a vital role in equipping staff with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to deliver outstanding, CQC‑compliant care and support. Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and deliver engaging health and social care training programmes, including:
* Mandatory training (safeguarding, moving & handling, first aid, medication, infection control)
* Care Certificate induction for new starters
* Specialist training such as dementia awareness, mental health awareness, substance misuse, and person‑centred care
* Create bespoke training content aligned with legislation, CQC requirements, and best practice in adult social care
* Facilitate induction programmes and support colleagues in achieving the Care Certificate
* Evaluate the effectiveness of training (face‑to‑face and e‑learning) to continuously improve delivery
* Maintain accurate training records and ensure compliance reporting is up to date
* Promote a positive learning environment that supports staff retention and professional development
* Explore and utilise external funding streams to enhance training provision
Ideal Candidate
* Recognised training qualification (AET / PTLLS / CTLLS or equivalent)
* Proven experience as a Health and Social Care Trainer / Social Care Trainer / L&D Trainer within the adult social care sector
* Strong knowledge of CQC standards, Care Certificate delivery, and mandatory training requirements
* Passionate about supporting learners and embedding a strong training culture
* Excellent communication, presentation, and organisational skills
