About the role
The Specialist Nurse will provide assessment, treatments and supportive therapies to oncology and haematology patients receiving Systemic Anti‑Cancer Therapy (SACT). This post supports the ongoing expansion of SACT delivery within the department of Cancer Services and contributes to high‑quality, safe and compassionate care.
Key responsibilities
* Assess and manage oncology and haematology patients receiving SACT.
* Administer SACT and provide supportive nursing care.
* Record and report patient progress and treatment outcomes.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient care.
* Support the training and induction of junior staff and students.
* Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the ward.
Requirements
* Registered nurse (RN) with completion of a Systemic Anti‑Cancer Therapy administration course.
* Background in oncology and/or haematology preferred; related study desirable.
* Professional indemnity and PVG Scheme membership/record with the required regulatory group.
* Ability to work 37 hours per week as a full‑time permanent employee.
* Valid UK work permission and compliance with NHS Scotland recruitment policies.
