Assembly, Installation & Service Engineer
Location: Wednesbury (Workshop) and nationwide (Field Work)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30 to 17.00, with some flexibility and occasional weekends required to cover emergency call outs.
Salary: £25000 to £29000 depending on skills and experience. Van provided. Company pension. 25 days holiday plus bank holidays. Opportunity for development.
The Role:
* Organised and self motivated mechanical/electrical engineer required to strengthen an assembly, installation and service team, and contribute to product development.
* Initially the role will involve assembly, installation, repair, service and maintenance of high quality machinery, involved in the collecting, washing, transporting and vending of golf balls at the driving range.
* This involves working with electrical motors, switches, sensors, relays, conveyor systems, PCBs, payment acceptors, card readers, solenoid valves and some computer work.
* You will be experienced and skilled in customer service, be able to prioritise and schedule your work, and complete all necessary customer job sheets, mileage reports and timesheets.
* You will be working primarily from the Wednesbury based workshop and office, with a good proportion of nationwide field based work. Hours are generally Monday to Friday 8.30 to 17.00, with occasional evening or weekend work as required for emergency calls (out of office hours are refunded to holiday entitlement).
* In addition, there will be opportunities to help develop a production department, with a view to developing and improving products, sourcing parts and manufacturing, and setting up assembly processes.
Responsibilities:
* Final stage assembly of machinery, usually adding electronics and consumable parts to prefabricated units, testing and signing off as ready for sale.
* Plan end execute efficient installations of equipment at customer sites, on a "get it right first time, every time" basis.
* Provide a prompt, efficient and reliable maintenance and repair service for customers whose businesses rely heavily on our equipment.
* Be able to quickly identify faults, quote customer for parts and labour required, and carry out works as per your quote and their instructions.
* Be able to identify preventative maintenance for the customer that will reduce risk of breakdown and extend the life of the equipment.
Skills:
* Experience in mechanical and electrical engineering essential.
* Decent paperwork and numeracy skills required.
* Must be honest, reliable and customer focussed.
* Computer literacy required.
* Electrical qualifications required.
* Decent knowledge of the engineering industry with an ability to source parts, services and solutions is desirable.
