Senior Commercial and Contract Specialist
Location: Solihull, Hybrid Tuesday in the office mandatory
Contract Type: Inside IR35
Rate: £550 - £700 per day (via Umbrella)
Duration: 3 months (with potential extension)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial and Contract Specialist to join a dynamic team supporting large-scale energy and infrastructure projects. This role requires strong commercial acumen and proven expertise in contract management within complex, regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
Develop strategic vendor strategies that align with business strategy and requirements. Evaluate contracts and provide recommendations to support business needs.
Assist in shaping Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and Pricing structures.
Guide the business on legal indemnities, Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Security, and financial commitments.
Support complex contract negotiations and management.
Proficient in all financial elements related to contract and commercial management. Shape commercial models, challenge assumptions, and align finance with business strategies.
Support teams in resolving complex financial queries and assist in financial planning activities.
Build strong relationships across the business and with vendors. Influence decisions and drive strategic alignment.Strong understanding of key performance indicators, service level agreements, and pricing structures.
Excellent negotiation and influencing skills to gain buy-in at all levels.
Ability to navigate complex personalities, build networks, and foster trust across functions.
Experience in promoting a culture of continuous learning, self-reflection, and feedback.
Proficiency in Digital Transformation methodologies and their application in contract management.
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and mentor teams to achieve organizational goals.
Familiarity with Digital ways of working, DevOps, and Agile methodologiesSkills & Experience
Extensive experience in commercial and contract management within large projects.
Strong understanding of UK contract law and regulatory frameworks.
Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors is highly desirable.
