Key Responsibilities:
* Lead end-to-end finance operations, including transactional processes, month-end close, and preparation of Accounts Packs for monthly Board meetings.
* Oversee statutory reporting, compliance, risk and audit requirements across the business.
* Manage the Finance Team, made up of one Purchase Ledger Clerk, One Credit Controller and one Assistant Accountant.
* Assist the business in producing annual budgets and weekly profitability and cashflow forecasts.
* Implement and maintain monthly balance sheet reviews including reconciliation completion.
* Own integration process between proposed new DMS and Financial accounts system and assist with implementation of improved and real time financial reporting methods to support business decision making.
* Work with wider management team to help fulfil business aims of increased profitability and ensuring control of working capital.
* Be part of the management team, provide data and business information as requested to assist with business decision making.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:
* ACA, ACCA or equivalent, or be qualified by experience
* Experience working with large quantities of data
* Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements
* Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting software
* Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
* Experience in people management including remote workers
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Strong communication skills and the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders
In addition to the above, experience in the following areas would be a distinct advantage:
* Experience in using an Accounting System separate to the DMS
* Experience in implementing new IT and/or accounting systems is preferable
* Experience in PowerBI or similar reporting tools is preferable
