Be the welcoming face and organisational heartbeat of the Education Development Centre & Durham Leadership Centre We’re looking for a proactive, highly organised, and people-focused individual to join our team as an Administrative Officer. As our Administrative Officer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the Centre is a welcoming, efficient, and well-managed environment for staff, visitors, and training delegates. Your responsibilities will include: Front-of-house service - greeting visitors, supporting staff, and ensuring a professional and friendly first point of contact. Centre operations support - assisting the Leadership Centre Development Officer with the safe and smooth running of the building. IT and facilities coordination - providing basic IT support, managing room bookings, and maintaining essential health & safety records. Safety responsibilities - acting as Fire Marshal and First Aider (training provided if needed). Early Years Programme administration - supporting our Early Years Training Programme with high-quality administrative assistance. Procurement tasks - raising orders for supplies and services for both Early Years and the Development Centre. This is a non-hybrid, office-based role. You’ll be part of the team five days a week, ensuring consistent support for staff, visitors, and training events. You’ll bring strong organisation and communication skills, a flexible, team-focused approach, confidence using digital systems, and a clear commitment to confidentiality and delivering excellent service throughout your work. You will need a NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration (or equivalent) Please refer to the attached Person Specification for the full criteria.
