A fantastic opportunity has recently arisen within the Breast Care Centre for a Band 4 Patient Pathway Coordinator to join our busy departments across Southmead Hospital and Weston General Hospital. This team are focused on helping manage the administrative processes for patients who suffer with Breast Cancer in the Bristol and South West area.

The ideal candidate will need to be able to work alongside the existing administrative teams across both sites (Southmead Hospital and Weston General Hospital) in a calm, logical, organised and methodical way whilst being able to multi-task in a busy environment with complex patient pathways.

The role will be to support all radiological administration aspects of the patient pathway in line with 2WW cancer pathways and 18-week referral to treatment guidelines, therefore RTT and cancer knowledge is desirable.

This role demands exceptional organisational skills and resilience, as it involves managing high-volume, time-sensitive tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. The ideal candidate will thrive under stress, efficiently juggling multiple priorities while supporting a critical and compassionate cancer care team.


Key Responsibilities

* Oversee the Breast Care Imaging aspects of the patient pathway.
* Act as point of contact for imaging appointments queries for patients, referring professionals and staff from other trusts.
* Produce the imaging spreadsheet.
* Booking of surveillance mammograms and 2nd look ultrasounds.
* Provide a comprehensive service to the clinical team ensuring patients Mammograms and Ultrasounds are booked in a timely manner within national guidelines and in accordance with the trust’s Patients Access Policy.
* Ensure that new or follow-up appointments, for Mammograms and Ultrasounds are dealt with in a timely manner ensuring that patients are informed with reasonable notice, and that all relevant paperwork is completed. This includes ensuring that all elective attendances/ admissions are promptly and accurately recorded on the appropriate CRIS and PAS.
* Process the relevant paperwork in line with the Overseas and Private Patients office.
* Answer patient facing telephone lines to assist with queries.
* Ensure that valuable resources are utilised to maximum potential, including replacing short notice cancellations.
* Cancel patient appointments as requested and ensure that they are rescheduled in accordance with Trust policy. Accurately record all cancellations and cancellation reasons.
* Process results from surveillance mammograms and send letters to patients.

Additional Role: Data Quality Marshalls

The Information Management & Technology (IM&T) Directorate are looking for Data Quality Marshalls to assist and accelerate the ambitious programme of system change and quality improvements which form a key component of the Trust’s Digital Vision.

The post holders will be responsible for analysing and resolving data problems, proactively work with clinical and technical services to prevent future recurrences of poor data, and guide, advise, and support users to meet acceptable levels of data quality. The post holders will work with key stakeholders internally within the Trust, and externally with Commissioners.

The Trust has placed a significant investment in its digital transformation, and the Data Quality Team will provide expert advice and recommendations to the Trust’s leadership teams, regarding the development and delivery of operational and strategic data quality improvements in complex projects, and programmes including PAS change, System implementation, and Commissioner Contract renewal.


Knowledge

* Working knowledge of relevant hospital systems
* Full working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Email and Word
* Knowledge of the Trusts Policies and Procedures
* Understanding of patient confidentiality and data protection
* Understanding of medical terminology
* Ability to establish new working systems and patterns.


Training / Qualifications

* Excellent keyboard and computer skills
* Training will be provided for BNSSG Patient Access Policy and computerised patient administration system
* Education to GCSE English Standard or equivalent


Experience

* Experience of working in the NHS or similar organisation
* Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary or busy team environment
* Experience of working under pressure
* Flexible working
* Experience of working to protocols and procedures
* Experience of talking to patients/service users
* Good attention to detail and completion of tasks to deadlines
* Ability to exercise judgement whilst problem solving and seeking advice appropriately
