Manufacture and installation of induction melting equipment. IGBT inverters up to 2MW, furnaces up to 5,000‑kg capacity plus water‑cooling systems, hydraulics and pneumatics, mainly throughout the UK.
Main roles and responsibilities
* Manufacture and assembly of mechanical and electrical components from various materials.
* Mechanical and electrical assembly of inverters, furnaces, hydraulic desks, fans, pumps and cooling systems.
* Work alongside existing engineers in the workshop and on‑site during installation.
* After training as a mechanical/electrical fitter, assist with manufacture, assembly, installation, service and repair of all types of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic equipment.
Entry requirements
GCSE English and Maths grade 5 to 9.

Training to be provided
The learner will study the Engineering Fitter Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard qualification. Day release to West Suffolk College.
Things to consider
A keen interest in mechanical and electrical engineering is essential. The position is approximately 90% workshop based and 10% site based, though this may vary slightly depending on workload schedule. If working away overnight, accommodation and meal expenses are covered by the company.
On successful completion of the apprenticeship, a full‑time position will be offered. There will be further in‑house and on‑site training and opportunities to progress within the company.
