The school is now seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated EYFS Teacher to join the Reception team, covering a maternity leave from after the Easter break until the following Easter. This is a full‑time role, and for the right candidate, there is an exciting opportunity to take on additional responsibilities as Phase Lead. The school is keen to meet interested teachers over theing weeks.
Your new role
1. Delivering imaginative, play‑based and purposeful learning experiences that support Reception children to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
2. Working closely with the EYFS team to ensure a consistent, high‑quality approach to early learning across the phase.
3. Following the school’s EYFS curriculum while adapting provision to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including those who may require additional support.
4. Observing, assessing and recording children’s progress with accuracy and insight, using this to shape next steps and celebrate achievements.
5. Contributing positively to the wider schoolmunity, modelling professionalism, flexibility and amitment to the school’s child‑centred ethos.
6. (Optional for the right candidate) Supporting the leadership of the EYFS phase, helping to drive standards and strengthen practice across the team.
What you'll need to succeed
7. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or EYTS an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
8. Experience teaching within EYFS or early primary settings, with a strong understanding of early childhood development.
9. A nurturing approach, strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with young children.
10. Secure knowledge of the EYFS framework and the ability to deliver engaging, high‑quality provision.
11. Excellentmunication skills and a collaborative mindset when working with colleagues, parents and external professionals.
