Civil Design Engineer – Highways & Drainage

We are supporting a highly respected, multi‑disciplinary engineering consultancy with the appointment of a Civil Design Engineer to join their expanding Leeds office. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in highways and/or drainage design to work on a diverse range of development infrastructure projects across residential, commercial, education, healthcare, urban regeneration and mixed‑use schemes.
The Role You’ll be joining a well‑established civil engineering team delivering infrastructure design from concept through to detailed stages. Typical responsibilities include:
Designing highways, junctions, access roads and public realm layouts
Delivering drainage designs, including SuDS, foul and surface water systems
Preparing designs for Section 278, 38, 104 and 106 submissions
Working with Civil 3D, MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage and related software
Producing drawings, reports, specifications and technical calculations
Supporting senior engineers and liaising directly with clients, architects and local authorities
Contributing to project planning, design review meetings and technical approvals

What We’re Looking For
2–5+ years’ experience in civil/infrastructure design
Background in highways and/or drainage design
Strong working knowledge of Civil 3D and MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage
Understanding of UK design standards (DMRB, MfS, SuDS etc.)
Experience producing drawings and technical documentation
Enthusiasm for progression and chartership development
