We are recruiting for a Senior Automotive General Manager to take overall responsibility for a large, multi-site automotive operation across Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire.
This is a high-level leadership role, sitting above site-level General Management, with a strong focus on strategic direction, commercial performance, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping business performance, driving growth, and ensuring alignment with wider organisational objectives.
This opportunity would suit a highly experienced leader who has operated at a senior level within automotive, logistics, fleet, or mobility sectors and is comfortable influencing at board level.
The Role:
Reporting into senior leadership, you will oversee multiple sites and senior management teams, with full accountability for performance, strategy, and long-term growth.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Providing strategic leadership across a multi-site automotive operation
2. Managing and developing senior leadership teams, including site-level General Managers
3. Driving commercial performance, profitability, and operational efficiency across the business
4. Full ownership of high-value P&L, budgeting, and financial performance
5. Developing and implementing business strategies to support growth and continuous improvement
6. Identifying new opportunities for expansion, innovation, and service development
7. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external
8. Ensuring compliance with all operational, financial, and regulatory requirements
9. Leading transformation, change, and performance improvement initiatives
10. Acting as a key link between operational leadership and board-level stakeholders
Experience & Requirements:
11. Proven experience operating at senior leadership level (Head of Operations / Director / Senior GM level)
12. Strong background in multi-site automotive, logistics, fleet, or related environments
13. Demonstrable experience managing large-scale operations and senior leadership teams
14. Significant P&L ownership and commercial accountability
15. Experience influencing and reporting into board-level stakeholders
16. Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate vision into operational delivery
17. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
18. Experience driving transformation, growth, and continuous improvement initiatives
