Job Title: Site Supervisor
Location: Burnley
About the Role We are seeking a reliable, proactive and highly organised Site Supervisor to join our friendly primary school team. This is a key role responsible for ensuring our school premises are safe, secure, well‑maintained and welcoming for pupils, staff and visitors. The successful candidate will take pride in maintaining high standards and will play an important part in supporting the smooth day‑to‑day running of the school.
Key Responsibilities
* Opening and closing the school site daily, including security checks
* Ensuring the safety, cleanliness and general upkeep of buildings and grounds
* Carrying out minor repairs, maintenance and DIY tasks
* Liaising with contractors and overseeing works on site
* Managing health and safety compliance, including risk assessments and record keeping
* Conducting regular site inspections and reporting issues
* Maintaining heating, lighting and alarm systems
* Supporting school events with room set‑up and site arrangements
* Ensuring compliance with safeguarding and statutory regulations
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Previous experience in site management, facilities, caretaking or a similar role
* Good practical maintenance skills
* Knowledge of health and safety procedures (e.g. COSHH, fire safety)
* Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills
* The ability to work independently and manage priorities
* Good communication skills and a positive, flexible attitude
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
