Assistant Quantity Surveyor Location: Eversley, Hampshire (with regular travel to various sites) Employment Type: Full-time A well-established demolition and earthworks contractor is seeking a dedicated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is a full-time, office-based position in Eversley, Hampshire, with regular travel to a range of sites varying in size, complexity, and location. Key Responsibilities: * Preparing applications for payment, including valuations of variations and loss and/or expense claims * Agreeing interim payment amounts with clients and monitoring payment notices (due, received, or outstanding) * Assisting in the preparation of project budgets alongside Contracts Managers and the Operations Director * Monitoring budgets against costs and monthly projections * Issuing subcontractor enquiries, analysing quotations, placing orders, processing interim payments, and agreeing final accounts * Ensuring contractual obligations are met in full * Advising Contracts Managers on commercial matters such as variations and delays, ensuring they are identified and recorded * Assisting in the preparation of contractual notices, including EWNs, NCEs and EOT requests * Conducting regular site visits to identify potential variations and to ensure accurate site records are maintained * Building and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and internal teams What We’re Looking For: * Experience in a surveying or construction management role, ideally within demolition and/or earthworks (preferred, not essential) * Understanding of JCT Standard Forms of Contract or similar * Degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying * Excellent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel * Experience in placing subcontract orders and managing project budgets * Understanding of payment cycles and cash flow tracking * Full UK driving licence * Proof of right to work in the UK (essential) What’s on Offer: * Competitive salary, depending on experience * Company pension scheme * Private medical insurance (after 3 months’ service) * Life assurance (4 x salary) * Health cash plan * 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays * Training and development opportunities * Supportive, family-run working environment with regular company events This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual looking to grow their career within a dynamic and reputable contractor in the construction sector
