A globally recognised multidisciplinary design studio is seeking an Architectural Designer or Architect to join its London team on an initial 6-month contract, supporting the delivery of complex, large-scale data centre projects. You will be joining a highly collaborative environment where architects work closely with engineers and specialists to deliver technically demanding, high-performance buildings. These projects sit at the forefront of digital infrastructure, requiring careful integration of architecture, systems, and sustainability, and are often driven by ambitious performance targets around energy, carbon and resilience.
You will be contributing to schemes that are shaping the future of data infrastructure globally, projects that demand precision, coordination, and a strong understanding of how buildings perform at scale.
Job Description
You will be embedded within multidisciplinary teams, supporting the design and delivery of data centre projects across a range of stages.
You will be:
* Contributing to the design and coordination of complex data centre schemes, working alongside architects, engineers, and specialist consultants.
* Producing and managing Revit models and drawing packages, ensuring clarity, coordination, and buildability.
* Supporting project delivery across RIBA Stages 2–4, with a strong emphasis on technical development.
* Coordinating with internal and external teams to resolve spatial, technical, and systems-driven challenges.
* Assisting in the integration of sustainability strategies, including energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and performance-led design.
* Participating in design reviews and contributing to the resolution of highly technical project requirements.
Key Skills
* Qualified Architect or Architectural Designer, or Part II with strong project experience.
* Strong proficiency in Revit is essential.
* Experience working on complex, technically driven projects (data centres, infrastructure, science/industrial, or similar highly serviced buildings preferred).
* Exposure to RIBA Stage 3–4 delivery, with an understanding of coordination and technical documentation.
* Comfortable working within multidisciplinary teams, engaging with engineers and specialist consultants.
* Strong spatial and technical awareness, with the ability to respond to complex design constraints.
* Interest in sustainable and high-performance buildings.
This role would suit an Architectural Designer or Architect who enjoys technically complex work and wants to be part of projects that sit at the intersection of architecture, engineering, and sustainability. You will gain exposure to globally significant schemes, working within a studio known for its collaborative culture, strong design ethos, and commitment to high-performance, future-focused buildings.
