Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Chef/Chef de Partie with a background in exceptional food catering services to join our organisation and work at one of our prestigious educational establishments. This role is critical to our operations and requires a high level of professionalism and expertise.
As a Chef/Chef de Partie, you will be entrusted with the following key responsibilities:
* Prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals for our young people, adhering to strict dietary guidelines and food safety standards.
* Demonstrate exceptional culinary skills and attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
* Maintain impeccable organisational skills to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
* Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, management, and other departments to ensure smooth service delivery.
* Exhibit a profound commitment to food quality and customer satisfaction.
* Adhere to and enforce all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
* Contribute to menu planning and development, incorporating current food trends while meeting nutritional requirements.
* Manage time effectively to meet all meal service deadlines.
* Work collaboratively within a team of experienced professionals.
* Adapt to the specific requirements of a boarding school environment, including working one evening per week until 19:00 and occasional Saturdays.
* Maintain a valid driver's licence and have access to personal car, as this is essential for the school is situated.
This position operates during term time only and requires a high level of dedication and professionalism to meet the standards expected in our prestigious educational setting.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must possess the following critical qualifications:
* Substantial experience in educational catering, demonstrating a proven track record of excellence in this specialised field.
* A progressive and distinguished career trajectory in the culinary arts, showcasing continuous professional growth and achievement.
* Comprehensive knowledge of current food trends, with the ability to incorporate these into nutritionally balanced and appealing menus.
* Demonstrable passion for food preparation and unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
* Thorough understanding and practical application of Health & Safety regulations within a professional kitchen environment.
* Proficiency in implementing and adhering to in-house Food Management Systems, ensuring consistent quality and operational efficiency.
* Expertise in managing strict allergy protocols, with a keen attention to detail in ingredient management and cross-contamination prevention.
* Superior time management and organisational skills, with the ability to plan and execute multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
