Tradewind Recruitment in Durham are currently seeking flexible and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a supply basis within our SEND Schools in County Durham. You will be supporting pupils aged 2-19 who are autistic or have profound, moderate, severe or complex learning difficulties.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a passion for inclusive education who want to gain experience across different year groups and work with children with special educational needs.
The role will involve:
Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils
Assisting with learning activities and adapting materials to meet pupil needs
Supporting children with their social and emotional development
Helping to implement Educational health care plans (EHCPs) and behaviour strategies
Working closely with class teachers and the wider SEND teams
What we're looking for:
Experience supporting children with additional needs (school, care or youth work settings are all welcome)
A calm, patient and proactive approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
A Level 2/3 TA qualification is desirable but not essential
