Electrical Shift Engineer – Data Centre Environment - Sevenoaks, Kent We’re seeking a skilled Electrical Shift Engineer to join a critical engineering team at a state-of-the-art data centre facility in Sevenoaks. This role is ideal for an electrically qualified engineer with experience in critical or high-resilience environments who wants to gain or build upon experience in the data centre sector. Key Responsibilities: * Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a range of electrical and building services equipment within a mission-critical environment. * Operate and maintain key data centre infrastructure, including: * HV/LV distribution systems * UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems and battery banks * Standby generators and automatic transfer switches (ATS) * Power monitoring and BMS systems * CRAC / CRAH cooling systems, chilled water plant, and HVAC controls * Support routine testing of emergency systems and ensure compliance with operational procedures and site safety standards. * Monitor and respond to alarms through the Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS). * Ensure all maintenance documentation, logs, and shift reports are accurately maintained. * Assist with switching schedules, isolations, and safe systems of work within HV/LV environments. Applicant Requirements: * Electrically qualified (City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ, or equivalent). * Proven experience working in critical environments such as data centres, hospitals, financial institutions, or similar. * Strong knowledge of electrical systems, fault diagnosis, and emergency power systems. * Familiarity with HV switching, UPS operation, or generator testing is highly desirable. * Data centre experience beneficial but not essential — full site-specific training provided. * Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
