Job Description
The Technical Compliance Officer will assist and provide food consultancy services to our food industry clients. The person will coordinate and organise tasks for the team to ensure projects are on schedule as well as keeping track of monthly staff hours. The person will play a vital role in our small, adaptive and efficient consultancy team.
Main Responsibilities
* Approval of food specifications using clients online and/or office document-based systems.
* Checking of supplier’s SAQs.
* Food label approval for legality and compliance.
* Working on client’s technical projects as and when requested.
* Attending technical/company meetings as required.
* Creation and ongoing transformation of project management function to enable better monitoring of consultancy tasks.
* Task management: provide regular updates to assist team with scheduling and help drive efficiency.
* Calculation of weekly / monthly staff hours to assist with accounts & budgeting.
Person Specification
The position would suit a person with previous food industry working experience.
The person should be numerate and literate, with a broad knowledge of general office IT including Microsoft Office applications.
The person will be expected to meet deadlines and be comfortable with managing their own work as well as coordinating team members regularly.
Essential Requirements
Food Industry knowledge (2 years minimum) including;
* Product specification detail
* Food Information Regulations and all relevant/specific food labelling law
* Knowledge of on-line specification systems e.g. Oracle, Aldi APP, and SPAR QA
Other Requirements
* Good knowledge of MS Office / MS 365 and general familiarity of video conferencing software; Teams etc.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to communicate complex legal findings into clear, focused feedback for clients and team members.
* Proficient organisation skills.
* Methodical and precise approach to tasks.
* Home or private office with good reliable internet access.
Desirable
* Project Coordinator or HR experience.
* Knowledge of microbiological criteria for foods.
* Knowledge of non-foods and pet foods regulations.
