Robotics Product Manager Location: Oxford (3 days a week on-site) We are hiring a Robotics Product Manager to lead the development of cutting-edge robotic systems within a high-impact research and technology organisation. Backed by long-term investment, this initiative is focused on building autonomous laboratories that will drive innovation in agriculture, healthcare, sustainability, and advanced manufacturing. The organisation is developing a network of next-generation physical lab environments, beginning in Oxford with the aim of radically rethinking how science and engineering are done at scale. Robotics is a critical part of that vision, and this role will sit at the core of its delivery. What You’ll Be Doing Own and drive the development of a robotic system, from early-stage design to deployment in a live lab setting. Lead the product vision and roadmap for robotic systems, particularly robotic arms designed for physical manipulation. Work within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with experts in orchestration, software engineering, and systems design. Make strategic product decisions, including architecture, team composition, and make-vs-buy assessments. Operate independently in the early stages and lay the foundations for a future robotics division. What We’re Looking For A hands-on background in robotics – ideally someone who has physically built robots or led teams doing so. Experience with robotic arm systems in logistics, automotive, med-tech, or additive manufacturing. A strong engineering background – preferably someone who has moved from robotics engineering into product leadership. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams across both hardware and software domains. Able to progress product development independently in the absence of a full team. Familiarity with developing or integrating algorithms on robotic systems is beneficial, though not core to the role. The Environment The role sits within the Autonomous Labs initiative; a programme focused on transforming physical science through automation and robotics. You will initially report into senior technical leaders, with the ability to build and lead your own team over time. The robotics team is in early development—this is an opportunity to help shape it from the ground up. The physical lab space in Oxford is under construction, with a target operational date of 2026. The robotics systems being developed will be tested and deployed in these physical lab environments. Who This Role Is Not For This is not a role for someone who has only worked adjacent to robotics or focused solely on software for robotic systems. We’re not looking for a data scientist-turned-product-manager or someone who packages data products as AI. This role demands deep technical and physical product understanding. If you're an engineer-turned-product-leader with a passion for building real-world robotics, and you want to drive something with genuine scale and societal impact, we’d like to hear from you. Package & benefits Salaries are base bonus discussed on a case by case basis. However, they can pay very well as they are looking to build an exceptional team (they are not constrained by typical wage structures in the UK) Benefits – fully paid for travel, flexi hours, private medical cover, pension, top training from around the world, working with exceptional talent ex- DeepMind, Meta, Amazon etc. Please apply ASAP for immediate consideration.
