Asset Surveyor Full time (37 Hours) Salary Scale: £26,634 - £31,708pa Job Reference: SCS Choice Housing is seeking an Asset Surveyor to join our Asset Survey team. This role is responsible for assessing the condition of the Associations housing and property stock. Key responsibilities include,carrying out detailed surveys across a range of property typesto evaluate their condition, maintenance needs and compliance with housing and safety standards. The Asset Surveyor willaccurately record key information on the age, condition, and lifespan of building components,providing vital information to support effective asset management and long-term investment planning. A hybrid working policy is in place with a large proportion of the work involving mobile working. The Asset Surveyor, will be responsible for managing and scheduling their daily survey activities. Essential criteria: Degree in Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Property or Construction, Planning and Development, Project Management or relevant subject Good knowledge of building construction and components Experience of building diagnosis and defects identification Be capable of working at roof level, within confined spaces, attics and basements. A current clean driving licence with access to private transport. Responsibilities: Liaise with tenants and office staff to schedule and coordinate survey appointments, ensuring clear communication of dates, times, and any necessary preparation requirements. Assist in the delivery of annual survey programsby carrying out detailed surveys across a range of property types, including homes, blocks, offices and communal buildings. Assess the condition of properties and building components, recording accurate data on their age, condition, quantity, and remaining lifespan. Evaluate compliance with relevant housing, building, and safety standards. Identify and report building defects, risks, and maintenance needs. Provide tenants with practical advice on building matters such as condensation and insulation. Work with Asset Surveyors, housing staff, and other teams to resolve property issues. Support the development of long-term asset management plans by supplying reliable survey data and professional insight.
