Sports Assistant
As a Sports Assistant you will play a vital role within our team, carrying out the day-to-day front of house operation of all Sports facilities and associated areas, so that we can provide indoor and outdoor activities and events for students, university staff, the local community and high-performance athletes.
This is a great position to learn and develop basic skills within a sporting environment where you will get to work alongside high-performance athletes, many of whom compete in the Summer and Winter Olympics.
About The Role
Your main responsibilities will consist of
lifeguarding
setting up indoor and outdoor activities
setting up events
assisting with general enquiries from customers
responding to ad hoc requests for support
You will also be involved in patrolling facilities, security, cleanliness, health and safety and emergency procedures.

The Department of Sports Development and Recreation at the University of Bath manages and organises a range of activities under the University's sports brand - Team Bath. You will need good interpersonal skills, the ability to work as part of a team and enjoy working varied hours.
You will work an average of 36.5 hours per week over in a shift rota with the other Sports Assistants which will include early mornings, evenings and weekends covering all hours of operation between 05:45 and 22:30 weekdays and 07:30 to 19:30 weekends.
Due to the working hours and pattern of this role, this role is only suitable for those aged 18 years and over.
Part of this role involves lifeguarding duties and therefore you will need to have a lifeguarding (NPLQ) qualification. You can gain the qualification by completing a short course with the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) - find out more here:
This role requires an Enhanced DBS check which we will organise for you, and we will support you with all the training you need to thrive in this inspiring environment.
