Merchandising Assistant Manager

As a result of our expansion plans, and our continued ongoing success we are seeking a dynamic Logistics Assistant Manager to be based at our Head Office in Plymouth.
About the Role:
The Merchandising Assistant Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the Manager in overseeing the smooth functioning of team. This position requires a blend of both IT and people management skills, with tasks ranging from team supervision and training to report creation and data analysis.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the Manager in overseeing the team's daily operations, including task delegation and performance monitoring, to ensure optimal productivity and efficiency.
2. Provide training and support in onboarding and continuous training for new team members, to support a high level of skill and knowledge.
3. Use SQL, Power BI, and internal reporting software to collect and share relevant data on stock levels, delivery performance, and order tracking.
4. Analyse data to assess KPIs, including availability and inventory levels.
5. Generate and manage reports to support the team in their daily functions, aiding in decision-making and performance evaluation.
6. Facilitate seamless communication among departments and stores to swiftly address any arising issues and ensure smooth operations.
7. Ensuring the maintenance of crucial background data for promotions, setting up locational details and then communicating these to the relevant teams.
8. Work closely with key stakeholders on cross functional projects, including Buying, Supply Chain, Imports, Visual Merchandising and Data Science.
9. Oversee the setup process for new stores, from initiating correspondence to gathering necessary information for merchandisers and logistics teams and maintaining collaborative tools like Google Docs.
10. Review and upkeep key information on internal systems, such as exclusion lists and product attributes, to ensure accuracy and relevance.
Knowledge and Skills:
11. Proficiency in Microsoft packages, primarily Excel is essential.
12. SQL, similar programming language, or demonstrable ability and willingness to learn SQL is essential.
13. Undergraduate degree is desirable but not essential – full training will be provided.
14. Previous management/supervisor experience is desirable but not essential.
15. Previous experience in an analytical, data-led role desirable.
16. Ability to interpret data and act based on that interpretation.
17. Strong communication skills are essential.
18. Ability to manage workload and work well under pressure/ to deadlines.
19. Excellent attention to detail & problem-solving skills.
