Overview
West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an experienced network and telecoms engineer to join our technical infrastructure team. This role will support the network and telephony specialists and more junior staff. The post holder will work independently on network and telephony configuration changes, support during incidents and new network implementations. The role requires travel around the west Suffolk area to support across acute and community sites and interaction with colleagues across the organisation. A focus on detail and documentation is expected, along with the technical skills in the person specification. This role may suit an engineer looking to develop further or a senior engineer seeking a new role in the healthcare environment. Responsibilities
* Provide specialist technical support in respect of Digital Communications Infrastructure as part of the third line Engineering Team.
* Under the guidance of the Senior Network Specialist, support the design, planning, development, implementation and documentation of new and existing Digital Communications Infrastructure for the Trust.
* Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and maintain Digital Communications Infrastructure against IT helpdesk tickets, risk incidents and in-line with Trust and Vendor maintenance schedules.
* Share extended knowledge with other team members and support other network engineers in resolving more complex issues; may accompany network engineers during incidents.
* Travelling across the West Suffolk area to provide on-site support as required.
Qualifications
* Experience as a network and telecoms engineer, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proven ability to configure, support and troubleshoot network and telephony systems; strong documentation and attention to detail.
* Willingness and ability to travel around the West Suffolk area to support multiple sites.
