Gloucestershire County Council is on the lookout for a visionary, values-driven Deputy Head of ASC Operations - Long Term Services to help shape the future of Adult Social Care. About the role:
As Deputy Head of ASC Operations – Long Term Services, you will be at the heart of our Adult Social Care leadership team – driving innovation, championing integration, and ensuring our services are responsive, inclusive, and high-performing.
You will:
* Strategically lead assessment and support planning teams across up to three locality areas (from Gloucester, Cheltenham, Cotswolds, Tewkesbury, Stroud, and Forest).
* Inspire and empower a skilled workforce to deliver exceptional, person-centred care.
* Drive transformation through bold leadership, creative thinking, and a relentless focus on outcomes.
* Represent Gloucestershire at local, regional, and national levels – showcasing our ambition and impact.
* Be responsible for the budget management for our service and for ensuring our funding is used most effectively to deliver the best possible outcomes for the people we support.

About you:
You will already have experience in the leadership, management and development of teams, along with a desire to progress these skills further. You will have provided leadership and support in the most challenging of circumstances, achieving high standards of practice and positive and improved outcomes.
Your in-depth knowledge and insight of Adult Social Care means you understand the challenges and opportunities the sector faces. You will have experience working with partner agencies, stakeholders and other professionals to deliver a high quality, integrated service and achieving value for money.
You will have worked in a statutory setting and have an understanding of the adult social care legal and policy framework and other relevant legislation.
Perhaps most importantly, you will be an ambassador for adult social care and have a passion for making a difference to people’s lives!
