About the role
We are currently looking for an Assistant Editor to join the team working on a leading architecture journal, where you’ll play a hands‑on role in creating engaging content for both print and digital platforms. From editing and publishing articles to generating fresh ideas and supporting social media and production processes, you’ll be involved at every stage of the editorial journey. This is a great opportunity for a proactive and detail‑oriented individual to develop their skills while contributing to high‑quality, thought‑provoking content for a professional architecture audience.
What we are looking for
Essential
* Proven ability to write engaging, fluent, accurate and well‑structured copy. Thorough knowledge of English grammar and spelling with strong regard for accuracy and consistency
* Knowledge of architecture, design, and construction
* Experience of copyediting and proofing text
* Evidence of engaging enthusiastically with digital journalism and social media
* Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with others
Desirable
* Aptitude for generating and delivering on ideas for publication
* Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload effectively and create robust schedules
* Ability to deliver individual tasks to deadline while managing wider workload
* Self‑starter, who can work independently and remotely on assignments while collaborating closely with busy team members
* Experience of working in a content management system
* Understanding of copyright laws and image licensing
