Overview
RSE (Renewable Energy Solutions) is looking for a Project Engineer to join our Portsmouth office on a permanent basis. The role focuses on project delivery for the Southern Water framework, working closely with clients, design teams, and contractors to ensure projects meet quality, safety, and programme targets.
Responsibilities
* Project liaison from enquiry stage to final acceptance, including documentation and client meetings.
* Site surveys as required.
* Instruct, direct, and allocate work to trade operatives and apprentices, ensuring quality, productivity, and safety.
* Provide technical information for design and construction deliverables.
* Interpret and check drawings, specifications and schedules, directing works accordingly.
* Prepare final documentation (e.g., as‑built drawings).
* Identify and resolve non‑conformance early during design and construction.
* Manage design of systems and products, ensuring alignment with design specifications.
* Deliver project quality, ensuring compliance with internal and client quality systems.
* Contribute to tender, design and construction programmes with progress updates and reporting.
* Subcontractor liaison and management, including tender specification, quotation, and H&S documentation review.
* Prepare construction‑phase health and safety plans for projects under CDM.
Qualifications
* Degree (or HND/HNC) in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
* Proven engineering or supervisory background.
* Strong time‑management, multitasking, planning and organisation skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical instructions.
* Knowledge of tools, equipment and materials common to mechanical and electrical engineering trades.
* Driven, able to work individually and with teams.
* Full UK driving licence.
