Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, forward‑thinking Neonatal Nurse to join our Neonatal team as a Band 7 Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) Ward Manager. This role goes beyond a traditional managerial position – it provides an opportunity to shape the future of neonatal care, drive strategic innovation, and lead with clinical credibility.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Senior Nurse in Neonates to drive operational excellence and strategic development.
* Manage and mentor a dedicated team, fostering a culture of compassion, adaptability, and professionalism.
* Champion quality improvement and change‑management initiatives that enhance care for our small and vulnerable patients.
* Maintain clinical visibility, contributing hands‑on care while influencing service delivery at a strategic level.
* Collaborate across the perinatal team to provide integrated, family‑centred care with Maternity Services and Paediatrics.
Key Qualifications
* Qualified Neonatal Nurse with a proven track record in team leadership and service development.
* Strong communicator with empathy, resilience, and the ability to manage staff responsibly.
* Problem‑solver and innovator who thrives on autonomy, initiative, and driving positive change.
* Energetic, enthusiastic, and adaptable in dynamic clinical environments.
* Ideal candidates have achieved the Qualification in Speciality (QIS) for Neonatal Intensive Care and Newborn Life Support – applicants without the qualification may apply and will be required to attain it within 12 months.
