Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Liaison and Diversion Crown Court Lead Practitioner to deliver a dedicated, embedded service within Derby Crown Court. The role will support vulnerable children and adults in the criminal justice system through timely screening, assessment, advice and onward referral.
Working closely with court colleagues, criminal justice partners, health and social care services, the post holder will help improve outcomes, promote diversion and support safer, fairer justice pathways.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work independently within Derby Crown Court as part of the wider Liaison and Diversion Service. They will assess vulnerability, identify health and social care needs, provide advice to court and criminal justice partners, and ensure effective links with custody, magistrates’ courts and community services. The role includes supporting safe practice, reducing reoffending, promoting social inclusion, enabling meaningful choice and contributing to the day-to-day leadership of the Crown Court pathway.
