THE JOB ROLE
Due to our continued success and rapid growth, this is a fantastic opportunity for a self-motivated and enthusiastic Mineral Planning and Estates professional to join our team.
The successful candidate will be based at our new Head Office in Kincardine and will play a key role in developing our future land supply, managing a substantial portfolio of mineral extraction and processing sites, estates, and other land assets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
1. Manage and assist in the development of the Tillicoultry Quarries Mineral Estate portfolio.
2. Lead planning projects, including submitting applications, monitoring the process, responding to comments, and discharging planning conditions.
3. Provide expert advice to ensure the license to operate is maintained.
4. Assist in identifying, assessing, and securing new land and mineral opportunities for future development.
5. Work closely with landowners and agents to progress land acquisition targets and planning applications.
6. Engage with local planning authorities to promote sites and discuss development proposals.
7. Liaise with operational and commercial colleagues on site development, estates management, planning, and environmental issues.
8. Engage with stakeholders and participate in local liaison events to keep communities informed and engaged.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
* Degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline, preferably in planning.
* Experience in the extractives industry.
* Excellent knowledge of the planning process and minerals planning practices, including current legislation and guidance.
* Ability to build rapport with diverse backgrounds.
* Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (preferably at an advanced level).
* Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
* Effective time management skills.
* Adaptability and flexibility to meet deadlines.
* Full UK driving license and willingness to travel across UK sites.
