Salary: £33,000 – £40,000 DOE

The Role
Our client, a well-established and growing ecological consultancy, is seeking an experienced Senior Ecologist to join their Derby office. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated ecologist looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
You will play a key role in managing ecological projects from inception through to completion, supporting junior staff, and contributing to the continued success and growth of the team.
Key Responsibilities
8. Managing and delivering a range of ecological projects
9. Undertaking and overseeing UKHab, protected species, and botanical surveys
10. Producing high-quality technical reports, including PEAs, EcIAs, and mitigation strategies
11. Liaising with clients, planners, and other stakeholders
12. Mentoring and supporting graduate and assistant ecologists
13. Ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
About You
14. Degree in Ecology or a related discipline
15. Minimum 4-5 years’ experience in ecological consultancy
16. Strong report-writing and project management skills
17. Membership of CIEEM (or working towards)
18. One or more protected species licences desirable
19. Full UK driving licence
