There has never been a more exciting time to join SDEC at Russell's Hall Hospital. An exciting opportunity has become available for 12 months maternity cover. The band 7 shift lead will be responsible for day to day shift leading on the ward as well as assisting with lead nurse and matron with other responsibilities.
Responsibilities
The band 7 shift lead will be responsible for day to day shift lead on the ward ensuring safety, quality and capacity is maintained at all times as well as assisting with lead nurse and matron with other responsibilities including rostering and governance related topics. You will also be allocated link nurse roles and be responsible for the audits and action plans for these.
The applicant must be able to work flexibly, including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.

Qualifications
Essential
* First level registration
* Educated to 1st degree level or evidence of study at degree level
* Evidence of professional development and regular study since qualification
Desirable
* ALS
* Health assessment level 6/7
Skills
Essential
* Able to work flexibly
* Skilled practitioner who can act as a role model
* Able to cope with some unpredictable work patterns and changing circumstances and other pressure situations normally expected in an Emergency environment
Experience
Essential
* Substantial experience since qualification in an acute medical setting
* Evidence of high level clinical skills and knowledge
* Sufficient experience as a band 6 in an acute medical setting, managing a team of staff and other resources
Desirable
* Experience of service planning and managing change
* Developed and implemented safe systems of work to ensure health and safety of staff, patients and visitors
