Project Engineer – Civil Engineering Equipment
We are seeking a Project Engineer to join a specialist engineering company that designs, manufactures, and rents solids/liquids separation equipment for the civil engineering industry. This is a hands‑on role based at modern offices in a rural location north of Preston, with additional work at a nearby plant yard and occasional site visits across the UK and Europe.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with practical mechanical experience who enjoys variety and getting involved in both technical and operational aspects of projects. You’ll work closely with the engineering team, suppliers, and clients to support equipment upgrades, documentation, and testing.
Key Responsibilities
* Source components for equipment upgrades and electrical controls.
* Gather technical information and maintain records for new and existing plant.
* Write operation and maintenance manuals and contribute to safety documentation.
* Assist with laboratory testing of soil and slurry samples.
* Carry out hands‑on work at the plant yard and client sites.
* Produce engineering and technical drawings for fabrication, suppliers, and clients.
What We’re Looking For
* Degree or diploma in an engineering‑related subject.
* Minimum 2 years’ practical mechanical engineering experience.
* Strong interest in engineering and problem‑solving.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work in the UK (passport and driving licence required).
* 3D CAD experience (Solid Edge preferred, training available).
Additional Information
* Salary: £30,000 – £36,000 (depending on experience).
* Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 5pm (flexibility required for site work).
* Travel: Occasional UK and European site visits.
