Job description
About the role:
1. To assist the school in the management and control of procedures which ensures that the local authority’s statutory responsibilities on Additional Learning Needs (ALN) are undertaken
2. efficiently and effectively.
3. To lead IDP processes and procedures across the whole school ensuring consistency in approach
4. To work effectively with multi-agencies including parents, carers and families
5. To complete quality assurance Additional Learning Provision in line with areas of need and ensuring pupil progress
6. To contribute to a data pack in relation to pupil progress
7. To make referrals in collaboration with teaching staff to seek multi-agency support
8. To signpost parents, carers and families to support where needed
9. To deliver staff workshops in relation to the IDP process including meaningful ALP and ensuring understanding.
About you:
10. You will be able to work with school leaders and teachers in an advisory role to support pupils with ALN and their families.
11. You should be passionate about inclusion, equality and diversity and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
12. A background in working with pupils with ALN and families is essential and you must be willing to undertake continued professional development.
What you will do:
13. You will be part of a team supporting pupils, families, and staff
14. The role is varied and members of the service deal with a wide range of people and community organisations: parents and carers, schools, early education settings, colleges, health professionals such as therapists and paediatricians, social workers, family support workers.
15. You will support all aspects of the IDP statutory processes and also support the strategic development work of the school in relation to IDPs.
