Job Description
Do you enjoy coaching and developing the skills of others? Do you enjoy developing processes by working with colleagues across different teams to secure transparent and effective environmental regulation?
You will join a water quality focused regulatory team of specialists enabling strategic change within the water sector, particularly focusing on storm overflows.
Working proactively with Environment Agency teams and external organisations, the role will lead the development of audit processes for water quality investigations under the Storm Overflows Assessment Framework and Environment Act. You will also develop training courses on Urban Pollution Management (UPM), respond to technical queries, and coach staff on sewerage and water quality investigations.
We’re a dispersed team working with various teams across the country involved in water regulation and water quality planning.
Responding to incidents is central to our work. You’ll have the option to take on an incident response role, which may include additional pay and full training.
The Team
This position is part of the Water Quality Regulatory Development team in Water Industry Regulation. The team is dispersed nationwide. The successful candidate must be able to work independently while maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.

Experience/Skills Required
* A relevant degree such as civil engineering or environmental science, with evidence of ongoing professional development.
* Experience with sewer modelling and/or river quality impact modelling for UPM studies, including audits.
* Knowledge of environmental planning and regulation of Water and Sewerage Companies.
* Excellent organisational skills and effective coaching abilities.
* Experience in embedding new processes through collaboration across dispersed teams.

3. Coaching Others: Use methods like instruction and feedback to develop others. Provide an example of enhancing team capability.
4. Shaping Organisational Approach & Delivery: Translate policies into operational activities. Describe a process you developed and embedded at an organizational level.
