Here at Hilti GB, we have a new position based at our Manchester HQ for a Bid and Commercial Manager (internally known as a Bid and Proposal Manager) to deliver high-quality bids and proposals for large private and public sector projects, further supporting our expansion plans in Great Britain and beyond.
In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to help win and complete some of the largest construction projects in GB and Europe with prestigious customers, while having autonomy, influence, and access to world-class training and development to advance your career.
What does the role involve?
1. Commercial Risk Management: Identify, analyze, and mitigate commercial risks, develop pricing strategies that reflect the full solution value for Hilti, and collaborate across functions to assess pricing and risks.
2. Bid and Proposal Management: Review tender documents, understand customer requirements, develop winning proposal strategies, influence, and lead cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
3. Overall contract management: Lead the end-to-end process, including drafting contracts, negotiating terms, reviewing conditions, signing contracts, and managing handover and contractual issues during project execution.
4. Commercial Support: Provide strategic commercial advice during project acquisition, influence customer decisions, and lead internal discussions to position Hilti effectively for large projects.
What you need is:
Essential:
* Proven experience in a large-scale bid, proposal, commercial risk, tendering, or contract management role managing bids and risks across major accounts and projects.
* Deep knowledge of contractual terms and conditions, with strong customer-facing experience in structuring and negotiating contracts.
* Strong financial and commercial acumen, with risk management skills and understanding of business processes.
* Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams with a strong team ethos.
Desirable:
* Bachelor’s or higher degree in Business, Finance, Legal, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university.
* Experience in a multinational environment and willingness to travel across Europe occasionally.
* Experience in energy or construction project management.
* Experience in highly regulated industries such as Power, Nuclear, New Build, Engineering, or EFW within construction.
* Proficiency in additional European languages besides English.
