About this role
Candidates will work with children aged 4 to 19. The school seeks a full-time support assistant with experience working with students requiring extra support within the classroom. The candidate should be able to work with minimal supervision, following detailed guidelines set by the learning mentor, who will hold regular meetings to discuss progress. The role involves collaborating with the class teacher to ensure students receive necessary support, promoting independence, and encouraging social inclusion. Candidates will work with students individually and in groups, assisting with planning and resource finding. You will join a welcoming, collaborative community focused on best practices and consistency across classrooms.

Candidate Requirements
Applicants should have a Level 2/3 qualification in supporting teaching and learning, a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education, or a relevant childcare qualification. A minimum of 1 full year of experience working with children, preferably with SEN children, including experience in planning and leading lessons under supervision. Candidates should be able to implement behavioral and emotional management strategies, demonstrate effective teaching approaches, and support pupils' achievement, including those with special educational needs. Confidence in teaching material and resourcefulness to help students feel a sense of achievement across various year groups are essential. Familiarity with the current curriculum and understanding students' support needs before class are also required.

All pay rates include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, with potential for permanence later. Teaching Personnel conducts safeguarding checks in line with DfE guidance, which may include online searches. We offer free child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have completed a valid enhanced DBS check, with full assistance provided.
