Casual Chef - UAB We have a reputation for outstanding food and currently have a position available for an experienced Qualified Chef who enjoys delivering first class food and who enjoys being part of a team delivering public catering, fine dining, and hospitality to thousands of visitors. You will be responsible for: Liaise with Head Chefs, Deputy Head Chefs and Management regarding, what is required in their designated area. Preparation, cooking, and service of food, to the required standard. Comply and work in accordance with all statutory and Food Safety policy and procedures at all times within all areas. Food quality checks and ensuring food production is in line with departmental specifications, bringing any concerns to the attention of the Senior Chef de Partie. Be able to meet production targets and service deadlines. Assists with the control of stock and portions within area of work. Comply and work in accordance with all current applicable health & safety / fire safety legislation and group health & safety / fire safety policies, procedures and arrangements as applicable to your work activities and working environment. Teamwork, good time management and having a flexible approach to work in a 7-day week operation (weekends/late nights) is essential along with the ability to meet deadlines and deliver exceptional customer service. Ideally as an individual you will have proven in a similar style kitchen operation is essential, along with the willingness to work with the existing team to always strive to take the food offering to a new and exciting level. Have knowledge of menu design along with a thorough understanding of both cost and wastage control. This position is ideal for a forward-thinking chef who wishes to increase their knowledge of food and progress his/her career. Previous experience is essential Qualifications and Experience required: Hold NVQ level 1, 2 and 3 or City and Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 in food preparation and cooking. Qualified to level 3 intermediate Food Safety Hold a recognised health and safety qualification (IOSH). Minimum 2 years' experience working within a busy kitchen in a similar establishment. Have a can-do attitude and be adaptable to change. Be customer focused and able to deliver excellent service. Strong communication skills. Be dependable, reliable, motivated and a team player.
