To provide mechanical repair and maintenance skills including fault identification and analysis to facilitate repairs, improvements including inspections, adjustments and calibration to agreed standards set by the company. Carry out maintenance and repair operations following the operational and maintenance plan/budget to improve operational reliability and availability of the plant and machinery at the lowest effective maintenance costs for all equipment, installations and buildings on site. You will ensure that all planned and preventative maintenance is carried out in accordance with the maintenance plans and complete daily inspections including identification, reporting and rectification of faults to reduce breakdowns and improve plant reliability.
Responsibilities
* Conduct and follow risk assessments and safe systems of work related to maintenance activities
* Assist with start-up and shut-down routines to optimize plant throughput
* Operate, inspect, and maintain equipment to meet site productivity targets and maintenance KPIs
* Maintain and repair static plant and equipment within the scope of competencies
* Coordinate planned shutdowns to ensure safe and efficient maintenance activities
* Carry out cleaning, housekeeping, and other 5S-related duties as required
* Keep accurate records of maintenance activities for reference purposes
* Operate machinery and equipment safely and in accordance with regulations and manufacturers\' guidance
* Undertake duties at other Heidelberg Materials sites within a reasonable travelling distance
* Ensure adequacy and maintenance of workshops, equipment, and facilities
* Train and supervise Apprentice Maintenance Technicians
* Maintain and repair static plant in a safe and efficient manner
* Complete maintenance activities using site CMMS and maintain up-to-date records
* Report problems or defects of static plant to management
* Complete risk assessments covering health, safety, and environmental risks
* Complete near-hit reports as required by Site Management
* Operate plant and machinery in an energy-efficient manner
* Comply with Company IMS procedures
* Assist in the implementation and commissioning of capital projects
* Liaise with supervisors on technical and safety issues
* Comply with site MRO system and inventory management software
* Contribute to the development of a spare parts strategy
* Assist with the maintenance budgeting process
* Ensure timely and accurate completion of timesheets/work time information
Qualifications
* Computer literate
* Good general education; understanding of health and safety regulations and quarry regulations
* Time served apprentice or NVQ maintenance engineering or at least 5 years’ experience in a maintenance engineering-based role
* Prior experience in the mineral extractives industry (Advantageous)
* HNC or HND (Advantageous)
* Practical burning and welding operations
