We're looking for a skilled and experienced CNC Turner to join our high-performance precision manufacturing team in Reading. This role is ideal for a machinist who specialises in CNC lathes and turning centres, with a passion for quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement. You'll be responsible for producing complex turned components to exacting standards, often working to tight tolerances and lead times. Key Responsibilities: Set, operate, and adjust CNC lathes to machine precision components Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications Load and inspect tooling, set tool offsets, and edit CNC programs at the machine Carry out first-off, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, gauges, CMMs) Ensure all work meets strict quality and dimensional tolerances Deburr and finish components as required Work to production schedules and optimise cycle times without compromising quality Support sub-assembly processes when necessary Maintain clean, organised workstations and follow health & safety practices Participate in continuous improvement initiatives including lean, 5S, and kaizen Assist in mentoring junior machinists and apprentices What We're Looking For: Recognised engineering apprenticeship or minimum 10 years' experience in a CNC turning role Expert knowledge of CNC lathes (Fanuc, Mazatrol, or similar control systems) ...
