Job overview
We seek a qualified mammographer to join our friendly breast imaging team on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave. The candidate should be highly motivated, compassionate, with excellent communication skills, and hold a postgraduate certificate of competency in mammography.
Note: Applicants must be female due to a "genuine occupational qualification" under the Equality Act 2010.
About Us
The breast imaging team includes consultants, clinical imaging specialists, advanced practitioners, radiographers, and assistant practitioners. The department is part of Radiology, working closely with surgery. We deliver high-quality breast imaging, performing approximately 20,000 screening mammograms annually, and are QSI accredited. We support CPD and role extension/advanced practice with dedicated training leadership.
Main duties of the job
Provide high-quality mammography in breast screening and symptomatic imaging, maintaining standards set by the NHS breast screening programme. Ensure safe practice, maintain and develop skills, and promote good service standards.

Person specification
Education and Qualifications
* BSc (Hons) Radiography or Diploma of the College of Radiographers, HCPC Registration
* Post Graduate Certificate or Award in Mammography Practice
Experience
* Experience in NHSBSP mammography
* Experience in symptomatic and screening assessment clinics, including stereotactic, upright, and prone exams
Skills and Knowledge
* IT literate, familiar with Microsoft Office and database applications
* Knowledge of NBSS and NHS breast screening programme
* Ability to manage demanding workloads and work under pressure
* Participate in CPD activities

* Professional demeanor and interpersonal skills
