Overview
The postholder will work alongside the Deputy Chief Pharmacist Operations to provide professional and clinical strategic leadership and advice to the Chief Pharmacist, and the Trust, on the development of patient services. Specifically, they will be responsible for leading, delivering, developing, managing and evaluating clinical practice in trust delivered outpatient services as well as ensuring medicines are supplied against the most appropriate pathways.
Responsibilities
* Provide professional and clinical strategic leadership advice on the development of patient services.
* Directly support and provide clinical supervision to junior and trainee pharmacists rotating through patient services to support clinical development and build confidence in a fast-paced environment.
* Proactively identify and encourage adoption of best practices, ensuring guidelines and procedures are regularly updated to align with local and national standards.
* Ensure quality standards and performance indicators are agreed and in place for any new service or transformation projects within patient services.
* Engage with Willow analysts and other trust sites in the development of digital build to optimise outpatient prescribing pathways.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
Essential
* Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or Pharmacy Practice
* Successful completion of short courses to the equivalent of a postgraduate certificate
* Specialist competencies in area relevant to practice or relevant short courses taught at postgraduate level
* Able to identify a vision for the delivery of pharmaceutical services
* Able to identify and deliver best practice
Desirable
* Registered Independent Prescriber or willingness to complete
