Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial driving and delivery, with a focus on safety and efficiency. This role involves transporting goods to various locations while ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations and company policies. A solid understanding of vehicle mechanics and warehouse operations will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
* Operate a commercial vehicle safely and efficiently, adhering to all road regulations.
* Deliver goods to designated locations in a timely manner, ensuring the integrity of the cargo.
* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any mechanical issues or maintenance needs.
* Assist with loading and unloading cargo, utilising flatbed techniques when necessary.
* Maintain accurate delivery records and communicate effectively with dispatch regarding any issues or delays.
* Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries.
* Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any queries or concerns from clients.
Requirements
* Valid commercial driving licence with appropriate endorsements for the vehicle type.
* Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with flatbed vehicles.
* Strong mechanical knowledge to identify and address basic vehicle issues.
* Previous warehouse experience is advantageous for understanding logistics operations.
* Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and clients.
* Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
