Senior Practice Accountant
Brighouse | Full-time | Permanent | Salary expected to be £40K - £45K DOE
At Mpeople, we're working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Brighouse to recruit an experienced Senior Practice Accountant.
This is a key role within the firm, suited to a confident practice accountant who enjoys managing their own client portfolio, supporting junior staff, and delivering high-quality work in a collaborative environment.
Role Outline
You'll take responsibility for a portfolio of SME clients while supporting the wider team with technical input and review work.
Key responsibilities include
* Preparation and review of statutory accounts for limited companies
* Preparation of accounts for sole traders and partnerships
* Corporation tax computations and returns
* Review of VAT returns and bookkeeping work
* Managing client relationships and acting as a main point of contact
* Supporting and mentoring junior team members
* Ensuring compliance with UK accounting and tax regulations
* Working with cloud-based systems (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
About You
* Strong experience within an accountancy practice
* ACA / ACCA qualified OR qualified by experience
* Confident managing a client portfolio independently
* Experience reviewing work and supporting junior staff
* Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
