Reeson Education is proud to be working with a forward-thinking special academy in Hampshire to recruit a dedicated HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) to support Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) across the whole academy.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced HLTA to lead and coordinate meaningful work experience placements and careers-focused learning for students in Year 11 and Post-16.
About the HLTA Role
As a HLTA, you will:
* Support the Careers Lead in delivering across the academy
* Coordinate work experience placements for Year 11 and Post-16 students
* Build and maintain relationships with local employers, colleges, and training providers
* Lead vocational profiling and careers guidance interviews
* Organise enrichment events such as college visits and destination fairs
* Monitor student progress and set meaningful targets
* Conduct risk assessments and planning meetings for placements
* Promote inclusive practices and support employers in understanding student needs
* Maintain resources and contribute to Gatsby benchmark evidence
* Track student destinations for up to 5 years post-graduation
This HLTA role is ideal for someone passionate about preparing young people with SEND for life beyond school.
HLTA - Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for a HLTA who is:
* Adaptable, resilient, and enthusiastic about making a difference
* Experienced in transition planning and supporting pupils with SEND
* Skilled in communication, organisation, and relationship-building
* Confident in leading careers-focused lessons and activities
* Willing to undertake CEIAG and Job Coaching qualifications if not already held
* Committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
* A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
