Overview
A large and complex public sector organisation is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join its established People & Organisational Development function. Operating across corporate services and educational settings, the organisation is committed to delivering high-quality, people-focused services and driving continuous improvement through its workforce strategy. This will be a 6-month temporary post.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with leadership teams to plan and anticipate workforce needs, providing strategic HR insight and solutions
- Lead on organisational change programmes, including restructures, TUPE transfers, and service redesign
- Provide expert advice and coaching on employee relations, performance management, and policy application
- Manage a complex caseload of employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, and capability issues
- Support the delivery of organisational development initiatives, including workforce planning, engagement, and wellbeing
- Deliver training, workshops, and briefings to managers on HR policy, employment law, and best practice
- Work in partnership with trade unions and external stakeholders to promote effective employee relations
- Drive proactive HR interventions to address underlying workforce challenges and improve organisational performance
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Proven experience in an HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor role
- Strong knowledge of employee relations and employment law
- Experience delivering change management and transformation programmes
- Ability to influence, coach, and challenge senior stakeholders
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A pragmatic, solution-focused approach to complex people issues
- CIPD qualification (Level 5/7) or equivalent experience (desirable)
- Experience working within education or the public sector would be advantageous but is not essential
