Role Overview:
You will provide urban design advice to support high-quality development across the District, from pre-application to post-application stages, and assist in updating design policies and guidance to enhance the local environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide specialist advice on urban design for pre-application inquiries, planning submissions, and post-application matters.
* Attend meetings, including Planning Committee, to offer urban design expertise.
* Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to achieve design objectives.
* Support the Planning Policy Team in developing district-wide policies, planning documents, and design guidance.
Candidate Requirements:
Experience in stakeholder engagement and providing detailed urban design advice to diverse stakeholders is essential. Candidates should demonstrate effective outcomes in placemaking, possess a solid knowledge of current planning policies, legislation, and good practices, and have strong organizational and communication skills.
This role may be offered as a secondment; candidates must obtain written approval from their current manager before applying.
