The Role:
An on-call firefighter is a paid person employed by the fire and rescue service who is ‘on call’ to respond to emergencies and engage with their community. They maintain everyday lives and jobs until their pager sounds, then they become professional firefighters.

This demanding role offers the chance to make a significant contribution. It involves close teamwork during emergencies and participation in community events.
Responsibilities include fighting fires and handling situations like flooding, road accidents, chemical spills, and animal rescues.
