This is a 12 month contract over 30 hours a week during Term Time Only.

Main duties of the job

Ready to make a positive impact in the lives of Children and Young People enabling them to build a better future?

We are seeking a passionate individual with a strong foundation in mental health and emotional wellbeing support. You`ll hold a BTEC higher diploma, foundation degree, or equivalent experience in a relevant field, with at least one year of post-qualification experience working with children, young people, and families.

We`re also hoping that you have the following:

* Knowledge of child development, behaviours, and mental health challenges.
* Familiarity with safeguarding legislation, confidentiality, consent, mental capacity, and data protection guidelines.
* Confident delivering mental health advice and engaging diverse audiences with excellent communication skills.
* Be highly organised, computer-literate, and able to thrive in dynamic environments.

This role requires regular travel to individual schools, so the ability to drive and access to a vehicle is essential.If you are unable to drive due to a disability, we will explore suitable adjustments or alternative travel arrangements, such as support through Access to Work.

Qualifications


Essential

* BTEC higher diploma or foundation degree in relevant field or equivalent skills/knowledge and experience


Desirable

* Experience of working in an education settings

* Understanding of mental health and emotional wellbeing issues that affect children, young people and their families
* Child development and understanding behaviours
* Safeguarding children and adults guidance and legislation
* Confidentiality, consent and mental capacity
* Data Protection guidance and legislation
* Minimum of one year of post qualification experience of working with children, young people and families
* Delivery of mental health/wellbeing advice and support to children, young people and their families


Additional Criteria

* Ability to learn in a variety of settings and using a variety of learning methods
* Computer literate
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Excellent time management and organisational skills
* Access to own transport or evidence of ability to commute efficiently between community venues.
